- Port of Brisbane
_010.jpg)
If you’ve ever been to the port of Brisbane you’ll know two things – it never stops and everything is huge. So I was a tiny bit excited to shoot some stuff for their annual report. The brief was to shoot images of their CEO & Chairman, one of their tenants Australian Container Freight Services and their shore bird roost. Now I am a massive animal lover, but for some reason the ‘harmonious coexistence with birds’ gene seems to have skipped a generation with me. I think it got nudged out by the ‘insuppressible apetite' gene.

- Brisbane Roar & Brisbane Airport - First Class Seats
Recently I had the opportunity to photograph a couple of Brisbane Roar players Thomas Brioch and Besart Berisha for Brisbane Airport's First Class Seats promo It was a tough gig for them. They were forced to sit in really comfy chairs, get served food and drink by a gorgeous Pan Am inspired air hostie and pretend to be happy about it. They battled through. They even found time to compare notes on what each other was wearing.

‘Thom, do you think tucked in or out?’

- The House with No Furniture
I love furniture. Robert Takken (of Takken Architects) does not. Well, actually, I don’t know that for sure but having recently photographed a residential design of his in Brisbane where a family of four were yet to move in... Let’s just say he was a pretty happy architect. Although, truth be told, I was a pretty happy photographer, too.

- Westpac Surf Lifesaving Rescue Helicopter QLD

It's not every day you get the chance to ride shotgun in the Surf Lifesaving Rescue Helicopter. So when the chance came along I literally jumped it it. Luckily the chopper was on the deck, so my arms remained in tact. Which is useful. Since I need them to take photos n' stuff.

- BID2012
I LOVE great design. it consumes me. Unfortunlatey it also consumes my bank balance! But I love it when something beautiful is also highly functional. That's why I'm supporting Brisbane Indesign in 2012. Hit the jump if you've never heard of BID and want to know more. Heck, hit the jump anyway - there are brownies on the other side!

- Beg, Borrow Hijack - With Expressions Dance Company

I always carry heavy gear, I wear steel cap boots, I sit for hours in front of a computer, I forget to drink enough water, I eat on the run, I fall asleep on the lounge, I rescue my underwear from my backside when I think no one is watching. I have a permanent timeslot with my osteopath who is, I’m sure, putting his kids through private school on my appointments alone. In complete contrast to the six permanent dancers with Expressions Dance Company - who are some kind of über humans.

- Favourite Shoots from 2011 - ARH for Aus Aero

This one is a favourite not only because of the subject matter (let's face it, who doesn't love a sexy helicopter), but also because I achieved this shot with next to no equipment and only 20 minutes to shoot.

- "Interactive Display" My A%$&
We've all been there. Those visitors centres. You know. The one's that make you believe taking a cheese grater to your eyeballs would be more enjoyable. Don't tell me a little piece of you hasn't died when you've seen the words 'interactive display' written on a photocopied clip art flyer. But I found one that will rip your throat out.
